Birgit Moser is a researcher based in Vienna. She studied architecture at TU Wien and completed a postgraduate course in Venice on Neuroscience Applied to Architectural Design, where she focused on the impact of the built environment on the emotional well-being of children and adolescents. Her current research and teaching at TU Wien explore the intersection of architecture and health & well-being. Through media such as photography and painting, she explores the interplay between the built environment and the human experience.
She is currently pursuing her PhD as part of the interdisciplinary research project BUILD CARE – Building Support for Children and Families Affected by Childhood Stroke. The project is the first of its kind to explore how the built environment shapes the everyday lives of children and families affected by pediatric stroke.
Since 2023, she has also been one of the curators and contributing authors of the online magazine Architecture and Neuroscience, published by Il Giornale dell’Architettura, which explores the growing dialogue between the two disciplines.
Her work has been presented at international conferences and exhibitions, including the Biennale di Venezia, the symposium “Brain Principles’ Contribution to Cities Design. Spatial and Temporal Scales” in Paris, EDRA56 in Canada, and ARCH24 in Helsinki.
